Why was my credit card charged twice?

The double charge that you see on your bank statement is most likely an authorization (pending charge), rather than a real charge. When making a payment by credit card for certain services, your credit card company may authorize your card before the actual funds are taken.

What happens when you dispute a charge on credit card?

Disputing a charge does not have an impact on your credit. You must keep paying your credit card bill like normal during the dispute process. As mentioned previously, card issuers usually remove disputed charges from the bill until the dispute is resolved, but you’re still responsible for paying the rest of the bill.
